Abandoned and Blighted Property in South Hartford |

| The Hartford cityscape is dotted with
blighted and abandoned buildings; the purpose of this map is to link these buildings directly to their owners.
This map is a result of a collaboration between HART, faculty
and students at Trinity
College, and the
Trinfo.Cafe. The neighborhood organizing group HART - Hartford Areas Rally Together - has long fought to improve every aspect of life in Hartford. Currently, HART is working with city officials from the Mayor's Office, Department of Development Services, and Licenses & Inspections to enforce the new blight ordinance, which enforces fines on landlords who fail to property maintain their property. The new blight ordinance - authored by the HART Problem Properties Committee - was passed in September 2006. While detracting from the aesthetic value of Hartford, blighted and abandoned buildings also decrease property values, lure drug dealers and crime, and leave the city without crucial tax income. Note: Hartford Areas Rally Together (HART) and
Trinity College have exerted maximum effort in locating the
names of building owners in the greater Hartford area. Using the
City of Hartford's Assessor's Web site and State of
Connecticut's Commercial Recording Division, this web site lists
the names of owners and their respective properties. Individual
names of owners and principals/managers of property are also
included. HART and Trinity College are absolved of any
responsibility if land, business, state or city records list the
incorrect names of owners. If your property was mistakenly
included on these maps, please contact us at 860-525-3449 for
assistance. |
